As Sweet as sugar !
Some people think they don't eat enough sugar . They put a lot of sugar on their food . Putting sugar on our food and in our drinks is not a good way to get energy . When we are tired and hungry , we need a different sort of sugar called glucose . Our bodies make this from some of the food we eat . When we eat fruit , rise or potatoes , the body makes glucose . But it makes glucose slowly and it lasts a long time . However , it's possible to make too much glucose too quickly. This happens when we eat sugar , white bread and other refined foods . When there is too much glucose in the blood our bodies make insulin . The insulin changes glucose into fat . This only takes about in hour .
When people eat sugar to give them energy . They soon want more . Sugar is one reason people get fat . Some people say brownsugar is better than white sugar or honey . None of them are good for you and they are bad for your teeth. Honey is 99% sugar and brown sugar is often white sugar colored brown . In our world nowadays there are too many fat people because they eat too much sugar . Doctors and scientists are looking for ways to help people eat less sugar . We can help ourselves by eating and drinking fewer sweet things .
